Guest article

Guest blogging on blogs other than your own is part of blogging. What’s in it for you? More visibility and reach. ;) If you’d like to publish a guest post on Bitpage, there are a few simple rules.

The topic has to fit

The topic has to fit Bitpage as a tech blog. I’d rather not publish guest posts about the latest crochet tips. It’s a different story if you write a step-by-step guide on how to crochet your own Android robot. That would fit again and would make a nice change. I especially like how-tos, hands-on reports and reviews where you have tried something yourself.

At least 400 words

A guest post should have at least 400 words. I think you can write that much about any topic without padding it with filler words. The limit is a guideline, though: if a post still covers everything it needs to, it’s no problem if it’s a bit shorter. The text has to be your own and must not have been published anywhere else. You need the rights to any images, ideally use your own photos and screenshots.

No anonymous authors

Every post has an author box below it, so it is clear who wrote it. For that I need your first name (last name optional), a short bio of two or three sentences and, if you like, a photo of yourself. You can also add your website and social media profiles, which will probably get you a few more followers.

Not too much to ask, is it? :-) If you’re interested, just get in touch via the contact page with a short topic idea.

Sponsored posts

Free guest posts are primarily intended for (private) bloggers, not for companies placing links. Companies can ask me about a sponsored post if the topic and product really fit Bitpage. These posts carry a “[Sponsored Post / Anzeige]” label (in German) at the beginning, a fee is charged, and all links in them are marked as “sponsored” in line with Google’s guidelines. I don’t accept pure link placements that offer nothing to my readers. If you don’t want an author box below the sponsored post, it can be left out. Please get in touch via the contact page if you’re interested.
